Description
Silk sat quietly on the living room rug. She listened carefully, her ears flicking back and forth, analyzing every sound, She was 17 and could see only shadows. Food didn't taste as good as it used to, so she got to eat deli turkey most days. Her owner called to her, 'Dear Kitty, sweet Kitty. Come and sit with me.' The little cat could no longer leap upwards, so the old woman leaned down, and lifted her gently onto her lap.
